Google+ wrong to limit invites

I understand Google wants to control the growth of their new social site, and I appreciate that they may not have been prepared for such a huge response to their launch.

But a social site cannot be properly assessed or evaluated if there are too few members or if any member is not allowed to include as many of their friends as are willing to join. It’s like trying to decide how much you’ll like a car without ever driving it. Yes, Google+’s interface is simple and accessible. Yes, most of the features work as advertised. But unless and until we can get a slew of our friends on there with us we can’t really be sure of this is the next big thing or if it’s just the 21st century version of Orkut.

Team Google, please reopen invitations so we can fairly test out your platform.
